Find the record holder

Check the school’s official registrar, counseling or alumni transcript page. For a closed high school, the district or education authority may direct you to the custodian. Use contact details from that official website, not an unsolicited transcript offer.

Request the correct transcript

Confirm whether you need an unofficial copy for your own reference or an official transcript sent to a recipient. Identity checks, fees and delivery options are school-specific. GPAcity cannot order, retrieve or certify your transcript.

Read what the transcript actually reports

Look for final cumulative GPA, scale, weighting and graduation period. If the school does not report a GPA, do not invent one for a form. Ask the recipient how to report your grading system or a not-provided value.

Estimate only when the purpose permits

With complete course grades, credits and the historical school policy you can make a labeled estimate. An estimate is not a replacement for a school-certified figure, particularly when repeats, transfers or policy changes affect the record.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Put the numbers together

A résumé line can retain “Cumulative GPA: 3.56 / 4.00 (final transcript)” if those exact values appear on your record; the helper does not verify them.

Method and limits

These examples use stated mathematical assumptions, not a claim that every institution uses the same policy. Read our methodology or check the available institution-specific profiles. Your transcript is the official record.
