CLEAR ANSWERS. THOUGHTFUL NEXT STEPS.

Your grades stay with you.

GPAcity calculates grades in your browser. Course entries are not sent to a server or saved automatically.

No account or transcript upload

GPAcity has no grade-submission endpoint, account requirement, cloud synchronization, analytics, ads, or third-party tracking scripts. Course values are held in memory while you use the calculator. Your browser still requests the pages and static files needed to load the site.

You choose what to save

“Save on this device” stores the course names, grades, credits, and calculation settings in this browser’s local storage. It is not encrypted by GPAcity and may be visible to someone else using the same browser profile. Nothing is saved automatically.

“Clear saved data” removes the saved record for the currently selected scale. To remove saved records for multiple scales, repeat that action on each scale or clear this site’s browser data. Reset only clears the working form.

Copy and print are explicit actions

The multi-semester tracker has its own local storage record. Import reads a versioned JSON file in your browser without uploading it. Exports contain course names, grades, credits and planned/completed status: keep them private. Clearing the saved tracker leaves the working terms visible.

“Prepare for GPA Tracker” stores a separate device-local handoff containing the institution policy, previous totals, courses and optional target. “Clear prepared calculator plan” removes that handoff; clearing the saved tracker does not remove it. Loading a file or pasted JSON never uploads it.

The TAMU, Mizzou and UIUC explorers download public aggregate snapshots from this site. Its filters, the requirements explorer’s inputs and the reporting helper’s fields are not submitted to a GPAcity server.

Copy puts a summary on your clipboard, without course names. Print uses your browser’s print dialog. Printed copies and clipboard contents are outside this site’s control. Course names, grades, and credit rows are not added to the page URL.

Score-guide links contain the chosen GPA

Opening a score guide or using the score lookup requests a URL containing that score, such as /guides/is-a-3-56-gpa-good/. It can appear in browser history and hosting request logs. Result links open in a new tab so the calculator stays in place. They do not include your course list or credits.

A guide’s goal-planner or requirements-explorer link passes only its reference score as exampleGpa in the URL. It loads an explicitly labeled illustration, not your academic record. No score link is prefetched by this application.

Hosting and review status

The public website at gpacity.com is hosted on Vercel. Loading it sends ordinary web requests to the hosting provider, which may process request details such as IP address and requested URL. This is separate from calculator course entries, which stay in your browser. An independent privacy review remains pending. This page is not a claim of legal compliance.
