Read the course Grades area

The student Grades view shows graded assignments, tests/quizzes and discussions. Instructor comments and excluded-from-final-grade notes may be available. PowerSchool notes that schools can restrict which grade information students see.

Check the grading method

Use the syllabus to decide whether the course uses total points or weighted categories. Apply any exclusion or late penalty before copying a category score. Do not average category percentages equally unless the syllabus gives them equal weight.

If your transcript disagrees

Confirm the grading period and whether the displayed score is in progress or final. Ask the teacher or registrar which system supplies the official record. This site neither signs into Schoology nor changes or syncs grades.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Put the numbers together

45 out of 50 and 80 out of 100 combine to 125 / 150 = 83.33% in a pure points system, not the equal average of 90% and 80%.

Method and limits

These examples use stated mathematical assumptions, not a claim that every institution uses the same policy. Read our methodology or check the available institution-specific profiles. Your transcript is the official record.
