Start with the program’s course set
Use your degree audit and the applicable program catalog to identify included courses. Requirements can involve supporting subjects, electives, transfer rules and repeated attempts. A course name alone cannot decide inclusion.
A selected-course estimate is not an official major GPA
You can enter a chosen subset in the general calculator, using the correct grade scale and GPA credits. Label that output as your selected-course estimate unless the program’s inclusion rules have been verified. GPAcity does not automatically identify your major requirements.
Keep the full academic record separate
A major subset and cumulative institutional GPA have different denominators. Neither is automatically a substitute for the field requested on an application. If the application asks for an official major GPA that is not reported, request guidance instead of inventing one.

Illustrative selected subset: an A in 3 credits and B in 4 credits gives (12 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.43. This is official major GPA only if those exact courses and rules match the program.
