What this directory includes — and what it does not
All HD2025 records in the 50 U.S. states, DC and U.S. territories with CYACTIVE=1, ACT in A/N/R, DEGGRANT=1, SECTOR in 1–6 and no reported closure date. Administrative units, nondegree institutions and records outside this definition are excluded. This is the 2025–26 collection released in 2026, not a live register or a claim that every U.S. institution reports to IPEDS.
Names, locations, reported aliases, institution type and reported website links come from IPEDS HD2025 — Directory information, 2025–26 (provisional, Release 1), retrieved 2026-08-31. Schools can close, merge or change names after the reporting year; check their current official record.
No GPA rules, GPA requirements, acceptance rates, rankings or accreditation claims are inferred from directory data. Missing information is not filled with estimates. A reported URL is not a claim that its current content was reviewed.
Compared by NCES UNITID with the previous 2024 directory: 53 records added to our scope, 43 reported names changed, and 73 previous records no longer match the newer directory scope. All previous institution URLs are preserved.
Added records are not necessarily newly opened schools. Missing records are not automatically classified as closed. Historical pages distinguish reported closures, combined institutions, parent reporting, scope changes and absence from this release.
