Find the rule for your college, not just the university name
A university may have different colleges with separate recognition criteria. UW–Madison’s registrar directs students to their school or college for Dean’s List requirements. Use the correct unit and term before comparing your grades with a requirement.
Read the denominator and course-load conditions
A high term GPA calculated from a small amount of graded work does not by itself prove eligibility. Check whether the policy requires a particular number of graded credits and how pass/fail or incomplete coursework is treated.
Recognition is not a cumulative-GPA calculation
Make sure the requirement refers to a term rather than your entire record. GPAcity can calculate the entered term’s GPA, but it does not determine the official honor, publish a recipient list, or verify your enrollment status.

A hypothetical term with 12 A-graded credits yields 4.00 on an A=4 scale. Whether that term qualifies depends on the school’s other conditions; the GPA alone cannot decide.
